Boral’s Deer Park precinct is located on the Western fringes of Melbourne and hosts three major Boral sites that supply materials directly to the Melbourne CBD and suburbs.
The operations include a hard rock quarry, asphalt plant and concrete batch plant. Each makes a substantial contribution to the ongoing growth and development of Melbourne.
Boral required a durable, semi-permanent Shelter Solution for their Deer Park complex. The Shelter needed to be designed for bulk storage.
Boral has a history working with DomeShelter Australia at operations across Australia, and enquired about a DomeShelter™ Structure to fulfil their requirements.
After the initial consultation process, several potential designs were drawn up and compared. Boral eventually decided on four interconnected Fabric Shelters, measuring 9m wide by 12m long. The four Shelters are ‘Super-Rise’, engineered for extra height, with the rise height from the mounting rail to the top of the apex measuring 4m.
The Shelters are mounted on concrete walls, with custom mounting rails engineered to suit. Other features include a custom box gutter fitted in-between the roof Structures for better weather management.
Investing in a fully engineered, compliant Shelter was important to Boral. They now enjoy using their Fit-For-Purpose DomeShelter™ Structures for safe bulk aggregate storage year-round.
