Ausco Modular’s DomeShelter™ Structure is the “ideal” solution for on-site storage.
In need of a durable Shelter solution in a short time frame, Ausco Modular reached out to DomeShelter Australia for a Fabric Structure that could protect their people and assets.
Ausco Modular is Australia’s leading modular building construction company and have been operating for over 60 years. They have fleets across Australia, providing modular buildings for a wide range of applications, from commercial offices to modular classrooms and emergency housing.
In 2022, having recently moved to a new manufacturing yard in Wattleup, south of Perth, the Ausco team “quickly realised that we needed some undercover Shelter,” says Malcolm Coyle, a store assistant at the Wattleup yard. The large yard had no existing shade to storage facilities, and a quick solution to protect staff and assets from the weather was required.
“The main problem we were trying to solve out here was definitely protection from the elements, the sun and the rain,” said Malcolm, “and also having an area for us to be able to work undercover. We have a lot of bulk materials and having a safe, secure location for those to be stored in is ideal for us.”
Ausco got in touch with the DomeShelter™ Team and were provided a Fit-For-Purpose Shelter Solution to solve their on-site needs. Two Container-Mounted DomeShelter™ Structures were manufactured for Ausco, measuring 15m wide by 12.2m long. A joiner tarp was also provided to fuse the two Shelters together to form one weathertight Shelter.
“The Shelter itself was easy to install”
The benefits of this approach meant that Ausco have the flexibility to utilise the two Shelters separately if worksite needs change in the future. Mounting the Shelters on containers with external concrete blocks used to hold down the Structure further provides flexibility for the Shelter to be relocated at any point with minimal disturbance to the ground and surrounding environment.
“We got provided two 40 foot domes, so that we could put them together, make an 80 foot long one, and then split them up and move them if we needed to in the future,” Malcolm explained.
A major benefit of using a DomeShelter™ Structure was the quick turnaround time and easy install process. “We outsourced the installation to a crew that we found, and from start to finish I think it took all of 3 to 4 days,” he said. “The install process was smooth and easy to do”.
Malcolm concluded by commending DomeShelter Australia’s commitment to quality customer service. “It was also great to have a rep from DomeShelter™ on call whenever we had any issues or problems”.
“I would definitely recommend DomeShelter Australia to anyone in the sector”
