The Bushfire Centre of Excellence is an educational hub established the Department of Fire and Emergency Services in 2021, where bushfire management personnel can come together for training and learning. It is the first facility of its kind in Australia, and is located an hour south of Perth. The Centre was established primarily to enhance the capability for rural fire management and bushfire risk management.
A key piece of infrastructure required was secure storage for emergency services vehicles. DomeShelter Australia was approached to supply a 16.8m wide by 12.2m long Container Mounted DomeShelter™ Structure for use as vehicle storage.
The Shelter includes several customisations, including a lockable gate across the front, attached to the sea containers, ensuring optimal security. Site-Specific Engineering with a footing design was also provided. The rear wall of the Shelter includes a partial suspended Endwall, underneath which a third container, modified to serve as lockable storage, has been situated.
A DomeShelter™ Structure was ideal as a vehicle storage solution for DFES – durable and Fit-For-Purpose while still able to be relocated in future in the event of expansions/further works to the Centre.
