The Maffra Agricultural Show Committee needed a safe and fully compliant Shelter Solution to protect Show patrons from the elements.
Maffra is a regional town in Victoria, Australia, within the Shire of Wellington. Maffra hosts their annual District Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Show in October. Activities at the Show include chainsaw carving, pet parades and extensive Equestrian competitions.
The Show Committee secured grant money to build a pavilion at the northern end of the Maffra Recreation Reserve, to use as a sheltered exhibition space for the Show.
The plan is to utilise the Shelter for the Show’s food and wine court. “We have about 150 patrons during the busy period for lunch, and if it rains, or it’s windy, there’s nowhere for them to sit,” Show coordinator Connie Dwyer said. “The [shelter] guarantees that we can hold the food and wine court to the full extent without disruption.
The Maffra Agricultural Show committee approached DomeShelter Australia for a compliant, fully engineered Shelter Solution. The Shelter will be used by hundreds of members of the public, so safety was key and it was important to use a supplier they could trust.
DomeShelter Australia provided a 17 metre wide by 28 metre long Post Mounted DomeShelter™ Structure for the Maffra Show. The Structure was installed by local contractors.
