Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral training activity between the Australian Defence Force and the United States military, held bi-annually. It aims to improve the combat readiness and interoperability between Australian and United States’ (US) forces and other partner nations.
Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023 (TS23) ran from 22 July to 4 August 2023, the 10th and largest iteration of the exercise. It consisted of field training exercises incorporating force preparation activities, amphibious landings, ground force manoeuvres, and air combat and maritime operations.
A short-term Shelter was required to store Amphibious Military Vehicles for the duration of the Exercise. A solution was sought that was durable and suitable for a defence setting, while still having a very fast turnaround, being easy to transport and install, and able to be dismantled without permanently disrutping the surrounding environment.
DomeShelter Australia were approached by Black Diamond Group for a trusted DomeShelter™ Structure to be used as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre, with full project scope including:
- Containers and ballast provided
- Install and dismantle
- Delivery from Western Australia to Queensland
- Fit-For-Purpose army green tarp with sand underside
Thanks to the DomeShelter™ team’s responsiveness and our Agile Manufacturing capabilities, a 12m x 12.2m Shelter was manufactured, delivered, installed and fully functional in just two weeks.
